If you're interested in learning more or getting a better sense of me and how I work, I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation video call where we can discuss your needs and hopes from treatment.
In this initial conversation, you will have the opportunity to share your reasons for seeking help and any specific goals or information you believe I should be aware of. If we feel we are suitable match, I'll offer insights into how I can assist you and address any questions you may have. Additionally, we will discuss fees and scheduling during this consultation.
Feel free to inquire about setting up a consultation via the “Contact” tab.

During your first therapy appointment, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental environment as you share your thoughts and feelings with a professional who is here to help you. Opening up to a stranger can feel really challenging, and that’s normal! As a therapist, my number one priority is to create a space that feels safe for you to share openly, and I’m trained to do so.
For individual therapy, the first session typically involves a comprehensive intake process. This allows me to understand your personal background, life experiences, important relationships, and the reasons you've decided to seek therapy. You'll also have time to talk about the concerns, challenges, or goals that are most important to you.
For couples therapy, the first session includes meeting with both partners together to gain insight into each person's perspective, experiences, and concerns about the relationship. It’s very important to me that I understand how each partner views the relationship and the challenges they are facing. This creates a strong foundation for creating a treatment plan that supports both individuals and the relationship as a whole.

I see my clients on a weekly basis, meaning we meet for one session per week. I also see some clients twice a week.
I consider the frequency of sessions a really important aspect of our work. Meeting regularly allows us to develop a real relationship, build momentum, and really make movement towards your goals together.

My fee is $275 for 45-minute sessions (individual) and $375 for 55-minute sessions (couples). Most patients with out-of-network benefits receive between 50%-80% reimbursement from their insurance.
It really matters to me that therapy be accessible, so I reserve a limited number of slots for clients who need a sliding-scale fee based on financial need. If you are feel you may be a fit for this and are interested in exploring a sliding scale agreement, please let me know when scheduling your consultation so we can discuss this together when we meet.

When it comes to therapy, booking the time is using the time. With that in mind, I use the following policies:
Regular Cancelation
To cancel a session with no cancelation fee, please notify me 48 hours before the session time (this includes weekends and holidays - just as long as it's 48 hours before session). That way I can try to make that slot available to other clients. Then we can resume the following week at our regularly scheduled time.
Late Cancelations
If a session is canceled within 48 hours of the session time, the full session fee will be charged. Clients can avoid a late cancel fee by rescheduling that week's session within one week, but only if client and therapist availability allow for this.
Rescheduling
The clients I work with are busy with professional and personal lives and rescheduling is part of the logistical frame of our work together. There is no fee for rescheduling. If you need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as you can and I will share my availability for alternative session times/locations. If we cannot reschedule because our availability does not overlap, the cancelation policies above apply. I am not able to accommodate same-day requests to reschedule.

I am an "Out of Network" (OON) provider which means that I am not directly contracted with any insurance companies. However, if you have out of network benefits with your insurance, I am happy to submit a monthly claim for you directly to your insurance or send you a monthly superbill for you to submit yourself, if this is your preference. Insurance can be so confusing and intimidating, but the claims submission process is typically easy and straightforward.

Call the members line on your insurance card and ask if your plan includes out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy. In case they ask, the billing code for an individual 45-minute session is 90834 and for couple therapy it is 90847.
If your plan does include out-of-network benefits, ask how the benefits work, e.g., "Does my plan cover a percentage of each session fee, or a flat cap?" If a percentage, ask what percentage (e.g., 60%), and if a flat cap, ask "what amount is reimbursed per session?" (e.g., $100). I also suggest asking if you have an out of network deductible that needs to be met to receive reimbursement.
With that out-of-network benefit information in mind, you can calculate the net out-of-pocket expense for therapy with me or other out-of-network providers.

I know this is potentially unsatisfying, but it really is an impossible question to answer. Psychotherapy can be long-, medium-, or short-term. Everyone enters this work from a unique place with unique needs and therefore, you guessed it… the timeline is always unique.
In general, I advise clients to give it about 12 to 15 sessions (about 3.5 months of weekly sessions) for us to build a working relationship and to see how they're responding to our work together.
I work with some clients for a very brief period, with others for many years, and with others in treatment intervals (defined period of sessions) and intensives (longer or more frequent sessions). We can co-create an approach that works for you.
